Diene TPE is mainly an isomer of natural rubber, so it is also called thermoplastic trans natural rubber (1-NR). As early as 400 years ago, this material was discovered as a natural rubber, but because it is produced from wild trees such as Guttabo and Balata, which are different from rubber trees, it is called Gutapo rubber, Pakistan Lata rubber. Although this T-NR has been used as submarine cables and golf covers for more than 100 years, it is thermoplastic, has strong crystallinity, has limited availability, and has not been used for a long time.
Synthetic T-NR-trans polyisoprene rubber made with organometallic catalyst is called TPI. Its microstructure is just the opposite of isoprene rubber (IR). It has 99% trans combination, 40% crystallinity, and a melting point of 67 ° C. It is very similar to naturally produced Gutapo and Balata rubbers. As a result, natural products have begun to be gradually replaced and further developed for use in orthopedic appliances, plaster substitutes and sports protection equipment. In recent years, with the excellent crystallinity and temperature sensitivity of TPI, it has been successfully developed as a shape memory rubber material, which has been favored by people.
In terms of structure, TPI is a thermoplastic rubber formed by the high crystallinity formed by the trans structure as the hard segment, and then combined with the soft segments of any other part in the elastic phase state. Compared with other TPEs, it has the advantages of good mechanical strength, good scratch resistance, and vulcanization. The disadvantage is that the softening temperature is very low, generally only 40-70 ° C, and its use is limited. BR rubber (cis-1,4-polybutadiene) isomer-syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene, referred to as TPB. It is a syndiotactic polybutadiene rubber containing more than 90% l and 2 positions, and its trade name is RB. The microstructure is a block polymer composed of a crystalline part having the same structure between hard segments and an arbitrary soft part of a soft segment. Although its heat resistance and mechanical strength are not as good as rubber, it is widely used in shoes, sponges, light films, and other industrial rubber products due to its good transparency, weather resistance, electrical insulation, and photodegradability.
The biggest difference between TPB and TPI from other TPEs is that they can be vulcanized. It solves that general TPE cannot be sulfurized with sulfur and peroxide. Instead, special devices such as electronic waves and radiation must be used. Can improve the problem of quality modification, thereby improving the shortcomings such as heat resistance, oil resistance and poor durability of TPE. TPB can be arbitrarily processed within the melting point range of 75-1 10 ° C. It can be used to produce non-vulcanized injection molded slippers and slippers, and it can also be used to manufacture midsoles such as sports shoes and travel shoes by vulcanization foaming. Compared with EVA sponge midsole, it is less prone to collapse and deformation, and is comfortable to wear, which is conducive to improving sports performance. The film made by TPB has good air permeability, water resistance and transparency, is easy to photodecompose, and is very safe. It is especially suitable for household and fresh-keeping packaging of vegetables and fruits.
